Nano Indoor Navigation

Navigate to places inside a venue.

Nano Indoor Navigation is a cloud based mobile application for providing step-by-step instructions to navigate from current user location to a specific point of interest inside a building. The instructions are very specific similar to GoogleTM maps navigation.

The product utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon signals along with wifi to locate the user inside the venue. The beacon signals also automatically detect current floor level and modify instructions accordingly.

The Nano solution includes equipments (BLE beacons for positioning & IoT gateways), Android mobile/tablet application and cloud based web application for defining points of interests within the venue.

Since it's new Frequently asked questions

Does indoor navigation require a new hardware infrastructure?
Yes and No.
You can enable navigation using existing WiFi infrastructure. However, setting up positioning beacons and gateways will increase the accuracy. In addition, if you require iPhone application, beacons are mandatory.
The beacons are small, rechargeable bluetooth low energy (BLE) devices used for establishing real time location of the user within the building. The IoT gateways are used for collecting bluetooth signals from beacons and send them to cloud.
Do I have to purchase the hardware on my own?
No. If you give us an approximate building area (in square feet), we will estimate the hardware cost (beacons + gateways) and the deployment plan. The deployment plan accurately details where each beacon/gateway has to be installed for optimal coverage. We will procure hardware and set them up for you at a fixed installation cost.
On the other hand, you can also purchase the hardware on your own. You will have to make sure the hardware is according to our specifications.
What are the steps involved in setting up and installing the beacons?
No. If you give us an approximate of area (in square feet), we will let you know the number of beacons, gateways required and the deployment plan. The deployment plan accurately details where each beacon/gateway has to be installed for optimal coverage. We will procure hardware and set them up for you at a fixed installation cost.
On the other hand, you can also purchase the hardware on your own. You will have to make sure the hardware is according to our specifications.
What are steps involved in setting up and installing the beacons?
After the hardware is procured, the Nano team will provide a detailed deployment plan for setup. The deployment plan accurately details where each beacon/gateway has to be installed for optimal coverage. We will procure hardware and set them up for you at a fixed installation cost.

The beacons are battery operated, small and portable devices. The Nano team will work with you to actually install beacons on the walls according to the plan. You can use our notifications to find out if beacons battery charge is running out.

The gateways require power. The Nano team will help you setup gateways as well according to the deployment plan.

We require detailed floor plan for each floor to be tracked. The floor plan can be in JPEG or PNG in a high resolution format for good accuracy. You can better track assets if the floor plan is detailed and accurate. The Nano team will come to your venue to establish radio map of your venue after the beacons are installed.

All these steps are covered as part of our setup and installation process. Our pricing plan includes a fixed cost for this.
Is there a maintenance involved in the tracking hardware?
No. The beacons’ battery life is upto 2 years. You can use our notifications to find out if beacons battery charge is running out. Gateways use electric power for charging.
Is our data secure? Can we own our data?
Yes. The Nano Indoor Navigation engine is a platform that runs within the Nano cloud. The platform is available as a service only. However, we can store data in the cloud or in-premise server of your choice. Contact us to discuss this further.
What is the pricing model?
The pricing is dependent on the size of the venue. Contact our sales team at info@thenanolab.com to get customised quote.
What are the deliverables for my purchase?
We will provide hardware equipments (BLE beacons & IoT gateways), Android tablet application and cloud based web application for managing points of interest.
